The food that we choose affects our health, energy level, moods, behaviour and many other characteristics.
Selecting right foodstuffs keep us healthy, energetic and happy. The saying 'You are what you eat‘ is indeed
true in this context.

Food that causes an inflammation

Some foods can trigger inflammation in our body. Therefore it is recommended to avoid such food for better
health and lifestyle. Here are some examples of food that cause inflammation -

  • Fried food
  • Fast food
  • Soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages
  • Alcohol
  • Processed food, processed meat
  • Gluten

Anti-inflammatory Food

Selection of anti-inflammatory food may seem a difficult and time-consuming task, but it is not so. It is all
about making optimum changes in our diet and selecting foods, ingredients which contain an
anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore choosing the right anti-inflammatory food and making yummy meals for
breakfast, lunch and dinner will do wonders in order to make one healthy and happy.

A variety of nutrient-dense foods can reduce inflammation. A “Balanced/Healthy Diet” always
includes
anti-inflammatory foods. The concept behind the anti-inflammatory diet is quite simple, such as adding
nutrients like fibre, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids to the meals to minimise inflammation.

Following are some examples of anti-inflammatory foods.

  • Green leafy, orange vegetables e.g. spinach, lettuce, coriander, brócoli, carrots, pumpkin
  • Fruits like oranges, pineapple, berries, cherries, papaya etc.

Intermittent Fasting

While adding the right ingredients in the food is crucial, the frequency of consumption of the food in a day also
play an important role in triggering inflammation. Therefore ‘intermittent fasting’ is to be followed which gives
the much-required rest to the digestive system and rightly enables the metabolism to reset.

Diet Plus Meditation

Besides taking these dietary measures, one should regularly practise stress relieving techniques like deep
breaths, listening to soothing music, meditation, yoga, prayers and more. This will help a lot in reducing
inflammation and make your life healthy, fit and happy.
